Visit to Republic of Uganda
President of the IIP, Erwin Lanc, Austrian Federal Minister ret., was invited by the government of the Republic of Uganda to participate in the ceremonies of the “Heroes Day” near Luwero, in honour of the victims of a massacre by the former dictator Idi Amin during the civil war. Mr. Lanc and Mrs. Bauer, chairwoman of the Austro-Ugandan friendship society, were publicly honoured by the minister of the presidency, Kirunda Kivejinja and the Vice-president of the Republic, Prof. Gilbert Bukenya.
Mr. Lanc also commissioned a private clinic and hospital in Buwenge, especially dedicated to pediatric medicine and
AIDS prevention. Uganda has reduced AIDS by 50%.
